NOTICE OF APPLICATION FOR MERGER OF BANK HOLDING COMPANIES AND AND ACQUISITION OF A BANK BY A BANK HOLDING COMPANY Lowndes Bancshares, Inc., 3462 North Valdosta Road, Valdosta, Georgia 31602, intends to apply to the Federal Reserve Board for permission to acquire/merge with another bank holding company, FMB Bancshares, Inc., and to acquire control of Farmers and Merchants Bank, a wholly-owned subsidiary of FMB Bancshares, Inc. FMB Bancshares, Inc. is located at 45 West Main Street, Lakeland, GA 31635, and Farmers and Merchants Bank is located at 4 North Carter Street, Lakeland, GA 31635. The Federal Reserve considers a number of factors in deciding whether to approve the application/notice including the record of performance of banks we own in helping to meet local credit needs. You are invited to submit comments in writing on this application/notice to the Federal Reserve Bank of Atlanta, 1000 Peachtree Street N.E., Atlanta, Georgia 30309-4470 and to the Georgia Department of Banking and Finance, 2990 Brandywine Road, Suite 200, Atlanta, Georgia 30341-5565. The comment period will not end before June 3, 2024 and may be somewhat longer. The Boards procedures for processing applications/notices may be found at 12 C.F.R. Part 262. Procedures for processing protested applications/notices may be found at 12 C.F.R. 262.25.
